ALDA Membership Guidelines

Overview

The following membership parameters ensure that ALDA continues to serve its intended purpose: bringing together senior executives from leading companies in the analytical, life science, and diagnostics industries.

ALDA membership is designed to include organizations that directly develop, manufacture, or enable the technologies driving modern biological discovery, innovation, and clinical insight.

Who Qualifies for Membership

Membership is open to companies that:

  • Develop or manufacture analytical instruments, life science tools, or diagnostics supporting research, development, and clinical applications.
  • Provide enabling products and technologies, including reagents, consumables, automation platforms, software, digital tools, or AI-driven data systems integral to scientific workflows.

Examples of eligible companies include:

  • Analytical and life science instrument manufacturers
  • Reagent, consumable, and assay chemistry suppliers
  • Diagnostic and molecular testing companies
  • Automation, robotics, and sample-handling solution providers
  • Software and data analytics firms serving R&D or clinical workflows (as commercial products or platforms, not service-only models)
  • Next-generation technology companies
  • OEM or System Integration Companies*

Who Does Not Qualify for Membership
To preserve the integrity and focus of ALDA’s membership, the following company types are not eligible to join:

  • Service Providers who do not manufacture and commercialize physical products of their own (e.g., contract design, contract manufacturing, IT, or consulting firms) and whose primary customers are other ALDA members.

Membership Expectations

All member companies and their representatives are expected to:

  • Abide by ALDA’s Attendance Guidelines and Code of Conduct.
  • Ensure that conference participants are senior executives responsible for corporate leadership and strategy.
  • Avoid using ALDA meetings for sales, marketing, or business development activities.

*OEM or System Integration Companies whose primary business is supplying components or sub-assemblies to other ALDA members are limited to one C-suite attendee at ALDA conferences.
