ALDA is heading across the pond for our 2024 Spring Senior Executive Conference. The meeting will bring together top industry leaders from around the globe. Our conferences provide a unique platform for networking, cover timely topics, and feature world-class speakers who offer strategic insights into trends, emerging technologies, and new markets.
ALDA’s semi-annual meetings are for presidents, CEOs, COOs, and senior executives from our member companies.

All times are BST. All conference sessions take place on the meeting level (floor 2), accessible by stairs or elevator.
Saturday, May 18
5-9 p.m.
ALDA Member-hosted Networking Event at the London Zoo (Optional)
Hosted by the Zoological Society of London (ZSL) and sponsored by PEAK Scientific and Danaher.
Plan to come to London early, as the Saturday before the conference, the ZSL will host ALDA attendees for an exclusive event at the London Zoo! The historic London Zoo sits on scenic Regent’s Park, just a short drive from the InterContinental. ALDA guests will convene during a private reception with a terrace overlooking the lush zoo grounds, and when the zoo closes to the public, will be taken on small group tours of multiple zoo exhibits—including the popular penguins, tigers, and gorillas with their newborn babies.
During the networking reception, guests will hear from ZSL scientists, who will share more about all the latest work their group is doing to advance science and conservation around the world. A buffet dinner will follow the networking reception.
- Spouses and partners are welcome to attend.
- Transportation will be provided to and from the conference host hotel, InterContinental Park Lane.
- The event is included in your conference registration.

A Future View: Global Leadership & Our Global Economy
Zanny Minton Beddoes is the Editor-in-Chief of The Economist, the first woman to hold the position in the history of the publication. Prior to this role, she was The Economist’s business affairs editor, economics editor, and emerging markets correspondent based in London. She has written surveys of the World Economy, Latin American finance, global finance and Central Asia. Ms. Minton Beddoes has written extensively about international financial issues including enlargement of the European Union, the future of the International Monetary Fund and economic reform in emerging economies. She is a regular television and radio commentator on BBC, MSNBC, PBS, NPR, CNN and CNBC.
Ms. Minton Beddoes will bring this breadth of knowledge and insight to ALDA attendees, sharing the latest developments in the global economy that will impact leaders at our member companies as well as her vision of the future and what it means for ALDA senior executives.

Dr. Nik-Zainal will share insights from her work and research at Cambridge and the Early Cancer Institute to shed light on the current state of cancer research in genomics, and how these new developments could lead to innovative, attainable, game-changing applications in precision medicine in the near future, and what that means for ALDA member companies.

Digital Pathology: Advancements and Applications in Modern Oncology

Dr. Darren Treanor is a Consultant Pathologist at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Leeds. He is known for his work in digital pathology, focusing on the development and implementation of digital pathology systems to improve diagnostic efficiency and educational resources within the medical field.
He is also Guest Professor in Digital Pathology at Linköping University, Sweden, where he works with the university and hospital teams on digital pathology research in a well-established project where 100% of clinical slides are scanned. In his session, Dr. Treanor will share the latest developments in digital pathology as it relates to oncology, including work on a national digital pathology system for diagnosis using AI.

Reception: ALDA Casino Night
Our Monday evening reception is ALDA Casino Night! Attendees will enjoy drinks and casino games. Don’t worry if you’re new to the tables – we’ll have instructors ready to teach you craps, poker, blackjack, and roulette.
We’re also hosting some friendly competition: attendees will play for chips and at the end of the reception, we’ll determine who has accumulated the most. The winner and the second-place finisher will both have donations made in their name by ALDA to the charities of their choice.
If you prefer not to participate in the games, there will be ample opportunities to mingle and enjoy drinks before dinner.

An educational and informative breakfast for women executives in attendance, as the CEO of the London Stock Exchange, Julia Hoggett, will sit down for an informal moderated Q&A and take questions from the audience about navigating her career, managing her current position, and other lessons in leadership.
